Well done to the children in KS2 for putting on such a successful art exhibition as the exit point for their 'Incredible People' unit of work. If you didn't manage to see the artwork during the exhibition last week, you can view the artwork on the corridor displays and giant display books. Speak to a member of staff at the end of the day and you will be more than welcome to come into school to have a look.

As part of our learning journey this half term, we have been looking at an incredible author in our literacy lessons. Next week we will be writing a picture book in the style of our class author for the children in Little Gems. We have been doing lots of research this week into our author's style to check that we get the details just right because we have heard that the children in Little Gems are very particular! Amethyst - Quentin Blake Turquoise - Tony Ross Pearl - Julia Donaldson Amber - John Burningham Why not visit your local library this weekend to see if you can find any more books by your class author? |

To end our World War 2 unit of work we had a day of cooking and finding out what life was like as an evacuee. Mr Rogers came to visit us again and told us stories of being evacuated to Cornwall. We saw lots of exciting photographs. In the life skills room we made potato pastry apple and pear tarts (they were yummy!) and biscuits without sugar. This showed us how people got by with the very little rations they had. |

On Thursday, Key Stage 2 had a great day learning about World War 2. Mr Rogers came into visit to talk about his experiences of war as a child. The children were captivated by his stories and the sound effects that gave the flavour of what it was like in war time. In the afternoon, Mr Dilworth and his colleagues from the WW11 living with History association, came in to show the children the uniform and equipment that was used by the American army during WW11. |
