This week we have followed the childrens’ interest in cooking. This came from reading The Gruffalo’s Child last week and thinking about Scrambled Snake, Gruffalo Tea and other unusual recipes. The children have made apple crumbles by following a recipe and mixing all the ingredients themselves. They thoroughly enjoyed this, so we set up a new kitchen area in the classroom so they could continue to act out the cooking fun. We have had a wonderful time and learnt a lot, as well as practicing our listening skills and working well together.
Our sounds this week were ng (as in king) and ai (as in tail). In maths we have been halving and thinking about how to measure short periods of time.
