Pop Art!

For Arts Week, Year 3 have been using Andy Warhol as inspiration to create our own pop art. We looked at some of his pieces and focused on the use of complimentary colours and replicating images.

The children experimented with using colours that were opposite to each other on the colour wheel through a variety of activities. The final piece was creating a pop art portrait of ourselves with some fantastic results.

We all enjoyed listening to some 80’s music that would have inspired artists during Andy Warhol’s lifetime. It’s fair to say we found some new favourite songs!

My younger sister enjoyed her ‘Pop Art’ project so much, she created a very good piece of art at home today!
