Recycle with us!
Here at Ferndown First, our Eco committee are passionate about reducing our plastic use and recycling as much plastic as we can.
There are several ways you can help us to help the environment. Firstly, lunchboxes. Where possible, please pack sandwiches or similar into reusable plastic pots rather than food bags or cling film. This plastic cannot be recycled. All snacks that are sent into school should be in a snack pot rather than its original wrapper or food bag.
Secondly, we have recycling boxes for crisp packets, baby food pouches and pens. We will also be collecting lids to send off to Lush. Milk bottle tops, drinks bottle tops, cosmetic bottle tops and household cleaning bottle tops.
Please make sure that the plastic you send in is relatively clean. The children are being encouraged to recycle crisp packets straight from their lunchboxes but please start collecting at home as well.
You can send the plastic in with your child and they can take it down to the boxes outside of RPS class in Reception.
The posters below explain the types of waste that we accept.
