On a very sunny Thursday afternoon, Year 4 were lucky enough to take a trip to Bedborough Solar Farm as part of their recent work on electricity. In the morning, our two visitors (Tracy and Alison) came to talk to us about solar energy. Children then made solar circuits using special equipment and then worked out how much electricity their household used on a daily basis – the numbers were frightening!
In the afternoon, children looked around the solar farm and talked to its creator, who was called Dom, about the how much energy it produces, and how much it cost to build. Children also looked at the local wildlife that is still able to flourish in the solar farm, despite all of the panels.
