This week, the Eco Committee started sowing vegetable seeds in the garden. This will be our first crop. The seeds are being kept warm under some fleece because it is very early in the season to start sowing.

First, we prepared the seed beds by raking the soil and removing any large stones. We then planted the seeds in rows with a label to say what they are. We are hoping to grow leeks, onions, kale, cauliflower, broccoli, beetroot and many more.

We also planted up some pumpkin and cucumber seeds into pots. These are being kept warm and watered in the Year 3 classrooms!

We are really excited to see the first seedlings emerge from the soil.
