We have had an amazing Art Week across the school! Our focus ‘paint by touch, not by sight’ started with a visit from Philip and Jean from Bournemouth Blind Society. After introducing themselves in assembly, Philip and Jean visited each class to take part in some activities and answer children’s questions. The year groups all had different focuses during the week. In Key Stage 1, Reception explored with tactile experiences, Year 1 created Braille inspired art and Year 2 made clay sculptures. In Key Stage 2, Year 3 looked at creating ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ using tactile art and Year 4 created 3D drawings with an impasto style. The results are truly amazing and we look forward to sharing them on our opening evening!
