Today at forest school we hid food like a squirrel would. We then had to remember where they were hidden – most children were very good squirrels and could remmeber 20 minutes later!
After that, we made hedgehog hibernation nests. We put a pot of hot water inside the nest and took the temperature of the water after a while to see how hot we had managed to keep it. The water had gone from 60 degrees c to around 30.
Finally, we filled up the bird feeders with seed so that the birds have some food over winter.
We learnt the word migration and hibernation. We also taked about how squirrels live in dreys and only come out to find their hidden food.
What a super forest school!
