What a fantastic Arts Week! We have been learning about a Japanese artist called Yayoi Kusama and she is well known for her extensive use of dots.
On Monday, we used our sketchbooks to explore and experiment with dots.
On Tuesday, we practised making origami cranes and learnt about calligraphy.
On Wednesday, we painted and decorated lanterns with different dot designs.
On Thursday, we painted a background using bright, bold colours and used finger printing to add dots. We used the colour wheel to help us choose complementary colours.
Today, we designed our final dot piece and coloured dots carefully using oil pastels.
Here are a selection of pieces we have created this week.
