This week, the children have been learning how to solve addition number sentences using single digit numbers. We have practised how to read the number sentences, including saying the + and = signs. We then used cubes to count out the correct number of cubes and then count how many we had altogether.

We have also been busy in the classroom completing lots of reading activities. The children have been matching both words and sentences to pictures. They have also been exploring dinosaur stories and non-fiction books.

We have been working hard on our handwriting every day after lunch, making sure that we are holding our pencils correctly and form the letters carefully. This week we have focussed on forming d and g correctly.

During our first school session, we learnt about birds and how they weave their nests. We then had a go at weaving ourselves. It was tricky!
