This week, we have been learning all about fire fighters. We had a brilliant virtual visit from Jon at Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. He taught us all about how to ‘get out, stay out, call 999’ in case of a fire and how to check our smoke alarms every week at home.
Our words of the week are uniform and alarm. We listened to alarm sounds and practiced what to do in the event of a fire alarm at school. We also got to hold a real fireman’s helmet!
In phonics, our sounds are /ar/ as in car and /or/ as in fork. In maths, we have been learning how to find one more and one less than a given number.
