In Design Technology, Year 3 children have been sewing!
First of all, children carefully designed their own pencil case, considering their desired shape, colour and design. Before making a start, children practised running stitch and whip stitch. Children decided which stitch they would prefer to use. Using felt, they then sewed the sides and attached a button or popper. Children embellished their pencil case with beads, sequins or material. Next week, children will make any final touches before evaluating their pencil case.
Children have had a lot of fun and Miss Lovegrove and Miss Weguelin are very impressed with children’s sewing skills. Well done, Year 3!
