This week, we have been reading the wonderful story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. The story is set in a village of the Luo tribe in south-west Kenya. We have been thinking about what Kenya is like and how it is different to Ferndown.
Our words of the week are Africa, continent and earth.
In phonics, we have practised reading and writing words with four sounds such as slip, sand, crab. We continue to work on writing sentences that can be read by others with finger spaces and full stops.
In maths, we have continued to improve our addition and subtraction skills. We practise reading the symbols and doing some simple calculations.
