We were delighted to welcome family and friends to join us on Friday morning for our first “normal” Sports Morning for three years. It was every bit as special as we had hoped and planned for, with perfect weather. For many children it was the first time they could participate in what we consider a traditional highlight of our school year.

The children, from EYFS to Year 4, were a credit to our school and parents. We couldn’t be more proud of their determination and sportsmanship. They encouraged their peers and had a brilliant time. All of the children took part in a range of activities focussing on important basic skills including an obstacle race, long distant javelin throw, sprints, balance, dribbling and a water challenge.

Danny Thomas and staff in school work very hard to make the event a success and we were particularly grateful to have the support of Ferndown Middle School and Upper School students too. It was a wonderful community event with a fabulous crowd of spectators, cheering the children on.

Red, white and blue teams competed against each other, with each child scoring points for their colour team. The result was very close!

In third place was the RED team -119 points

In second place was the WHITE team – 124 points

In first place was the BLUE team – 134 points

Parents have already given us some wonderful feedback.  Thanks for your comments. We really appreciate your kind words and we are so pleased you enjoyed yourselves.
