On Thursday, Year 3 went on a school trip to Brownsea Island. We enjoyed the boat ride, spotting different features of the Poole Harbour. On Brownsea Island, we walked through the nature reserve to the natural play area. We were lucky enough to spot a red squirrel or two! The children loved the play area and many children worked with their friends to build a den. We then walked to a viewpoint. On route, we spotted a male peacock spreading its feathers. The children were amazed by this! From the viewpoint, children identified Old Harry Rocks and several islands in Poole Harbour. The view really was beautiful. After a picnic lunch, the children enjoyed sketching some of the things that they could see on the island. Before the boat ride home, we explored the learning centre where we learnt more about red squirrels and other wildlife on the island.
