Year 1 had a fantastic time this week when they enjoyed immersing themselves in the past with their Victorian School afternoon. Classrooms transformed with rows of desks, black boards and chalk and Victorian school rules! Children practised their handwriting by chalking the alphabet, repeated their number bonds to 10 out loud, drew a portrait of Queen Victoria and enjoyed some fresh air with hopscotch and hoop rolling. Whilst the children enjoyed themselves, when asked if they would prefer to go to school in the past or the present, it was a definite thumbs up for school as it is now!
