Today in Year 3 we made sedimentary rock sandwiches! The children were given a range of food items to represent the layers of rock. They had brown bread for clay, white bread for sand, biscuits for rocks and different jams for plants and animals. They all took turns to layer the items and put pressure on them to squash them down, so that they would look like real sedimentary rocks.
