In Year 4 this week, we have been learning about solids, liquids and gases.
We made predictions about a glass of water and how we could change it into the other two states of matter – a solid and a gas.
We tried lots of ideas, such as putting ice cubes in the water, putting the water in the fridge and putting a solid into the water.
Eventually we tried heating the water and freezing the water. We found out that if you freeze it, you make a solid and if you boil it, you make a gas!
Can you complete your own inquiry at home to see if this works for any other liquids?
