We have been learning about the census in Year 3. The census is very important so that we can collect data and see if we need more parks, schools, hospitals and shops. The census has been around for a very long time, since 1801! It happens every 10 years. This year is a census year! The census needs to be filled out by all households on Sunday 21st March.
Last week, we used the website ‘Nomis’ to find out previous census data about Ferndown. We enjoyed learning about the number of adults, children and cars in Ferndown in 2011.
This week, we planned our own mini census. We discussed what questions we could ask and decided upon ‘What is the class’s favourite animal?’ We used the data we collected to create a chart.
Well done, 3B and 3L!
