On Wednesday 28th September children in Year 1, 2, 3 and 4 walked to church for short harvest services. It was the first time we had been able to visit St Mary’s since December 2019 and it felt good to be back. The two services were lovely. Children sang songs they had been learning in Singing Assemblies and they listened to Ryan, the new children’s pastor, share his message about being thankful for the harvest. He also sang a great song about potatoes. Ask the children about that!
Mrs Di-Pede closed the services with a reminder that we are more fortunate than many and should think carefully about the difference between what we want and what we need.
As always the children were excellent ambassadors for the school and Ryan has been in touch to say how impressed he was with the way they behaved. We look forward to returning to St Mary’s Church for our Christmas Service.
Thanks to Mr Watts for planning and leading our Harvest Services this year.
