This afternoon, Year 2 helped Mrs Smith with a very special job. Six native hedging plants had been donated to us so we spent the afternoon planting them in. Mrs Smith dug some deep holes and the children helped make them deeper by removing the stones and roots. We then stamped them in very hard. We saw lots of worms so we put them back safely. We planted blackthorn, hawthorn, dog rose and field maple. We are really looking forward to them growing and becoming a home and a food source for lots of creatures. In our RE session today, we were posed the question – ‘what do you do to help the world?’ This was definitely a job that helped the environment!
