Congratulations to Miss Langton who has secured a new position at Ferndown Upper School. We’d like to thank her for her commitment to our school over the past six years and wish her well in her new post, which she takes up at the end of February.

As a result, and following a review of office roles and responsibilities, we are inviting applications for the roles of Administrative Assistant and Receptionist. Both roles will require regular contact with pupils, parents, professionals and outside agencies. A calm, friendly, polite manner and the ability to work well under pressure is essential.

The Administrative Assistant role

  • Monday to Friday
  • 37.5  hours per week
  • 8am – 4pm with a 30 minute unpaid break.
  • You will be required to work term time, plus INSET days and two additional weeks during the school holidays, negotiated with the Office Manager
  • CAT Grade D SCP 5-6 – FTE £19,312

The Receptionist role 

  • Monday to Friday
  • 35 hours per week
  • 8am – 3.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break.
  • You will be required to work term time, plus INSET days
  • CAT Grade C SCP 3-4 FTE £18,562

Our ideal candidates will be:

• highly motivated and committed

• positive, proactive, with a good sense of humour
• eager to contribute to the wider life of the school
• computer literate, with experience of Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, SIMS, ParentMail and other similar school office software.

Experience would be desirable but it’s more important that we appoint the right people to work in our friendly office team. Your previous experience may be transferable to a school admin role and full training will be given. GCSE grade C or above is required in both English and Maths.
