Last week, it was Science Week at school. Each day, Year 3 enjoyed different science challenges. On Friday, we had a workshop in the hall which involved fire and popping balloons!
Back in the classroom, we carried out an investigation involving magnets. The children were able to suspend paperclips in the air. We discussed how the magnetic force was stronger than the gravitational force.
We also took part in the whole school ‘Curly Wurly Challenge’. The challenge was to stretch a Curly Wurly as far as possible within 3 minutes. We discovered that they stretched better when warm because its molecules spread further apart. One group stretched the Curly Wurly to over 1 metre!
