We had such fun, celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on the last day of half term! The children wore their red, white and blue with pride, knowing that the colours symbolise the union jack.
The day began with an assembly to look back at the Queen’s reign and children sang some special songs. In class, children took part in a short history lesson to understand the role and achievements of our Queen. At lunchtime, we enjoyed a street party style tea and watched Year 4 display their country dancing skills!
During the afternoon, each year group took part in a creative activity which allowed the children to make and take home a memento of the day. Each year group focussed on a different memento, eg, flags, crowns, decorated plates, postage stamps, jubilee wreaths etc.
