Each week in Year 1 we enjoy sharing a particular text. We read the story, identify interesting vocabulary and talk about what happens in the plot.
These are all important activities in developing well-rounded comprehension skills. The children love joining in with familiar phrases, finding the new words and freeze-framing and acting out different parts of the story.
This week, the children have enjoyed The Lion Inside by Rachel Bright and Jim Field. They have discovered what the words ‘toothsome’ and ‘meek’ mean and have thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the King Cat ROAR!
We can not wait to continue our shared reading in Term 2.
