We enjoyed celebrating British Science Week in school in a number of exciting ways.
In Year 1, the children explored an activity based on space rovers. They talked about what the surface of the Moon might be like and discussed what the tyres would need to be able to do in order to drive successfully on it. The children then suggested different materials they thought would be suitable, showing great curiosity and thoughtful reasoning.
Reception focused on growing cress. They loved watching the tiny shoots appear over time and took responsibility for remembering to water the cotton wool each day. This activity sparked lots of discussion about growth and how to care for living things.
